So - I've been following the "How to install High Sierra Vanilla" guide - had some major issues with my Realtek 8111 LAN - what i ended up having to do was place the files in OSX Base System / System/Library/Extensions for the installer to pick it up and use it!
So, i got the first part of the installer working, the files are sitting nicely on my drive - i rebooted back to the USB, copied over my PreLinkedKernel thing and rebooted again this time to my SSD with OSX on it.
It sat for about 20 minutes until i was greeted with
> various timeout messages
It sat like that for an hour doing nothing
Where have i went wrong?
