General chat and support for running on a Virtual Machine.

This is the VM Download links (I will add a mirror as it uploads) (for those that bitch about mega, I allocate 500GBs of bandwidth for users to download):

You want to download VirtualBox for Windows and create a new VM using an existing VM image. Point it at the HighSierraAMD VM.

Image

You want to uncheck Floppy Drive and EFI in the System Settings for the VM.

Image

You want to give it as much RAM as you can spare and at least 2 processors.

Now you want to open a CMD prompt and past the following commands:
Code: Select all
 cd "C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\"
VBoxManage.exe modifyvm "Your Virtual Machine Name" --cpuidset 00000001 000106e5 00100800 0098e3fd bfebfbff
VBoxManage setextradata "Your Virtual Machine Name" "VBoxInternal/Devices/smc/0/Config/DeviceKey" "ourhardworkbythesewordsguardedpleasedontsteal(c)AppleComputerInc"
VBoxManage setextradata "Your Virtual Machine Name" "VBoxInternal/Devices/smc/0/Config/GetKeyFromRealSMC" 1
You may get the spinning beach ball when the GUI first loads but let it do its thing and the rest should be smooth

Once the VM boots:

Setup starts immediately on OS load, first is to select your language and click continue like so:

Image

Next is selecting your keyboard, select your keyboard and click Continue.

Next it will ask you if you want to transfer information to your mac, just select No like so:

Image

Next it will ask you if you want to sign in to iCloud, select No:

Image

Next it will ask you to Agree to the Terms of Service:

Image

Next is to setup you account, enter your information and click Continue:

Image

Next it will ask you if you want to use Express Setup, click on Customize Settings:

Image

Next it will ask you if you want to enable Location Services, click Continue like so:

Image

Next it will ask you to setup your your Time Zone, click on the map where you are and click Continue:

Image

Finally it will ask if you want to participate in Apple Analytics, uncheck them and click Continue:

Image

Once the OS loads to the desktop you want to go to Finder from the menu and click on Finder Preferences. Once Preferences loads check the Show Hard Drives box and you'll see your hard drives appear on the right of the screen.

to change resolution -
neither
VBoxManage setextradata "VM Name" VBoxInternal2/EfiGraphicsResolution 1440×900
nor
VBoxManage setextradata "VM Name" VBoxInternal2/EfiGopMode 4
