After a lot of trial and error I got Mac OS X El Capitan to run. But the screen is really tiny and there are a lot of graphical glitches. Where and how can I install the drivers and make the screen bigger? Also if you can tell me if I can upgrade my vm to Mojave via the App Store. Thanks.

I would do a fresh install of a macOS upgrade rather than initiate the process via the App Store upgrade. You should be able to download Mojave from the App Store on el Capitan. Then you can use the downloads available throughout the site (i.e. kernel and/or prelinkedkernel) to patch Mojave. Though, I'm not sure how smooth Mojave is working on VMs.
