I have been trying to upgrade from Ventura to Tahoe for several months with no success.

I have an AMD 7 2700, MSI x470, 32 gigs of ram, and installing on a nvme. No Bluetooth or wifi

I have tried upgrading via Ventura/Apple as well as installing via a USB stick. Same problem: picker shows up and starts to boot, and then hangs.

I have used OpenCore Configurator and it validates that my config.plist has no errors.

I am using opencore 1.07 and the newest kexts.

Not using Whatevergreen and/or AppleALC makes no difference.

I am thinking it is a hardware/bios problem.

thoughts?

Hello @jcpollman , two things stand out in your EFI. USBToolbox is not compatible with Tahoe so there is no USB support using it. You can try disabling it and UTBDefault.kext and see if your USB Ports work, probably not, or a better solution is to use either the newest release of Hackintool in your Ventura install to map your ports or USBMapMaster by CorpNewt. Both support the newer USB format kext needed for Tahoe.
You will also need the attached version of Whatevergreen to boot Tahoe

I am pretty sure you don't need the apfs_aligned.efi driver in your setup. I don't with my X570 or B550 systems. I only need this driver for my B650 and X670 systems.

You are using an old set of AMD Kernel patches that only support macOS versions up to and including Sequoia. You need to update the AMD Kernel patches for Tahoe to run on your system.

Which discrete GPU are you using?

Try the revised and cleaned up OC folder attached below.

All you need to do is add your SMBIOS data to the config.plist and it should work with your current Ventura installation and allow the Tahoe installation to run.
