CPU: Risen 9 5900HX
RAM: 32GB
GPU : RX 6800M (Disabled) + AMD Radeon Graphics 16GB Allocated (NootRed)
1TB Windows

Issue:
Hackintosh is successful. It successfully boots, however I'm having issues with my laptop keyboard. If I long press any key I either get:

or my computer gets a black screen which can only be fixed by spamming random keys until it comes back on. The computer isn't sleeping, because the screen will remain black until I "fix" it by spamming keys.

The kext I'm using for the keyboard is VoodooPS2Controller. An external USB Keyboard doesn't trigger the same response.

Ive also included Windows Device Manager information about the internal keyboard.Screenshot 2025-01-01 120624.png

Solution
Disable the ‘N-key Device’ as it is not going to work with macOS. Assuming this is the keyboard combination key press feature.
I figured it out. Apparently, all I have to do is cold-boot MacOS. If I restart from windows, the issue occurs. However if I shut down. and start up the laptop and boot directly into MacOS, the keyboard works perfectly fine.
Which Laptop keyboard/HID kexts are you using?

VoodooPS2Controller.kext would be essential.

Voodooi2C.kext plus one or more of the plugins that work with this kext might also be required.

You should start with Voodooi2c.kext and Voodooi2CHID.kext.

I’m using VoodooPS2Controller + VoodooI2C and I2CHID. all 3 have been part of my config since the beginning. The issue is present even with all 3.

It’s worth noting that my computer has an N-Key device, that when disabled when usb mapping causes the keyboard to not be functional. I’ve done the usb mapping correctly and I’ve set the peripheral as a 255 internal device

Have a read of this Reddit post, see if there are any similarities between your keyboard issues and those described in the post linked below.

It doesn’t sound like a macOS specific issue.
It’s not similar because this only happens on MacOS. On windows my pc performs perfectly.

I believe is how the voodooPS2Controller is interacting with my keyboard and needs some fine tuning or some DSDT patching of some sort.
