Hi all.

I am trying to install MacOS Sonoma or Sequia on my PC. I started with Sequia yesterday but didn't get it working and now trying to get Sonoma up and running.

I have tried to create an EFI myself. This got in a weird loop of it not being able to open the langiage selection screen. I tried some premade EFIs but all had issues

I got the recovery image from OpenCores macrecovery.py
Specs:
Ryzen 7 5700G
Gigabyte Aorus X570 Elite
2x8 gskill 3200mhz ram
Intergrated graphics(1gb VRAM assigned in bios)
Crucial P5 plus 2tb(Windows SSD)
Random 128gb sandisk sata SSD(The one I plan to use with MacOS for now)

Settings changed in BIOS:
Disabled CSM
Disabled Secure Boot
Enabled resizable bar(unless the EFI didn't have it enabled)
USB Compatibility mode set to Auto
Enabled XHCI handoff

If I missed anything, please let me know.
I have attached both my current EFI and the latest error message.

Thanks for any help

Only issue I could see was the SMBios. NootedRed doesn't recommend MacPro7,1. This is changed to iMacPro1,1

After trying some more and using your suggestion to set the SMBios to iMacPro1,1 I gets passed the verbose log part. However, the screen is black at the part where it's supposed to show the langage selection screen.
The system isn't locked up since caps lock still works and the PC eventually goes to sleep indicating that everything seems to work except for the display output

I don't have any other GPU plugged in and use HDMI to my 1440p display

Update: NootedRed seems to be the issue, atleast with installing. I get a display output without NootedRed, I'll follow up when I have more info

Update: I installed macOS Sonoma without any major problems. I reenabled nootedRed after installation and gpu acceleration seems to work.

I do however have a problem where the install just hangs for a second, when typing for example. Any clue what that could be?

Another question: Would I be able to slot in another gpu, like my old 1060 just for display outputs?

No to using your old Nvidia GTX 1060 for display purposes. Nvidia GPU's have not been supported in macOS since High Sierra.

Graphics glitches may be due to the lack of VRAM allocated to the AMD IGPU. 1GB is the bare minimum for the IGPU to work in macOS. You should at least double the VRAM to 2GB given you only have 16GB RAM in your system.

4GB or more is what I would recommend, depending on your work/play processes.

Given your current setup and the issues you're facing with installing macOS Sonoma or Sequia, have you considered checking the compatibility of your integrated graphics with macOS?

The Ryzen 7 5700G CPU’s Radeon Vega graphics are supported in macOS when NootedRed.kext is installed. There are a few known issues when using NootedRed or NootRX ( for AMD IGPU or dGPU), which are explained on the page linked below.

One of the most common issues is that you can’t use the DeviceProperties section in your OC config.plist, with NootedRed or NootRX.
