Mac OS install on AMD Ryzen (VMWare) Opencore - Improved Performance - Works with Sequoia / Sonoma / etc

In the tests I've done here, if you install Sonoma, do Apple Login, and then update within pro macOS to Sequoia, Apple Login stays working.

But if you install the Sequoia ISO directly then it won't work.

This information was updated in the tutorial as soon as the first beta versions of Sequoia appeared.

I've done a lot of research on this and it seems that Apple has blocked this when macOS is running on virtualized systems with a system other than macOS itself as the host (in this case Windows).

Yes - that was the case:
I updated from a running Sonoma installation to Sequoia and the login seemed to be alive, but as soon as I connected an iPad or iPhone, there was a message, that I need to login to iCloud first. That's why I logged out and tried to login again without any success.

May I ask this
Is it possible to assign more Graphics Display? I installed vmware tools with darwin iso

Following the instruction.
Thank you.
It did work on sonoma.
But crashed when booting sequoia.
I feel like it must be something I missed.

I haven't tried it and I don't know if it works, but you can try it as described in this link:

Is there any possibility to make copy/past working between devices ? to copu text from iphone and past in VM

I've never heard of it. But if you install a messaging app on both (WhatsApp, Telegram, etc.) you can get the same result.

My was able to put the Sonoma in my VmWare, then I was able to upgrade to Sequoia but I'm having a few issues. ICloud images and Safari are not backing up (if I take a photo in my Iphone it won't go to the VM things like this) and I have a constant message in Settings but the worst one is my microphone, the sound is terrible is like I'm inside a can and cutting my voice. Anyone know how to fix it?

In Photos it's shows this

But when I click on Setting it goes to the Apple Account in Settings and there is nothing the to accept except this error

But when i click in Continue nothing happens

If anyone is online and can quickly help that would be great. In facetime I can only hear 1 person and no one else. Their audio comes through fine but I cant hear my other friends. For the sound card I put in the host sound card and set it to my wired USB headset. I tried putting YT in the background which does work. It appears to not be a limitation of VMware but something with FaceTime. Has anyone else encountered this?
hey dude, a question. Did you needed to do anything to your mic work correctly? In my case I can hear everything just fine but my mic is like I'm inside a can and cutting off my voice, like a old radio yoi know.

Hello Friend,
You also have to install VMWare Tools from within macOS. It will turn your mac display to wide screen!
Did you managed to install correctly? Because every time I try to install it when requests to restart my screen goes black and keeps this for a long time and I need to restart in VMWare and when I do this it keeps showing to Update VMWare Tools

Apple not allowing login services on new versions of macOS when running on virtual machines and having an operating system other than macOS as host (in this case Windows).
This has already been discussed a few times here on the forum.

Hi Guys I have followed and install everything in the post but it still won't work and just keep stuck at this page. Anyone know how to solve it? Big thanks to everybody.😤1729561167630.png

Remove VoodooHDA.kext from your setup, as it is causing the kernel panic.

Look in these locations:
  1. /EFI/OC/Kexts & config.plist
  2. /System/Library/Extensions
  3. /Library/Extensions
It will be in one of these three locations, depending on where you placed/installed the kext.

Thanks so much for the updated OpenCore image. I tried this about six months ago (I think it was OpenCore 0.8.x?) and couldn't get it working, this new image just works. Performance is also pretty good, too.
AMD 5600X / RTX3080
Installed Sonoma 14.6.1 from ISO provided, and now doing in-place upgrade to Sequoia.
edit: trying to do the upgrade... it's been stuck at the same spot on the progress bar for quite some time.

OK, I restarted the VM as it was frozen, and the upgrade completed - however it asked me to sign into iCloud again (I thought the in-place upgrade would allow me to retain the iCloud login?)
Is there a way around this? Or is the best advice just to stick with Sonoma for now?

Also, doing a software update (to 14.7 in this case) causes the update to be stuck, and then the machine is unable to power off (gets stuck on a black screen). Any ideas on how to resolve this?
