Hello everyone!

I'm new to ryzentosh. My first hackintosh I finished back in the days of high sierra, so Intel is nothing new to me and my current Desktop is also running great on Sonoma.

But since I purchased a new laptop and its powered by a 6680M I wanted to give it a go.

No I encountered a strange problem, I never had on Intel:
I managed to reach the Installer & now two problems appear:
1. USB Devices are somekind of slow (Keyboard is not recognised at all, Mouse is there, but its laggy as hell)
-> Onboard Keyboard is working good, no lag. Onboard Trackpad is not working at all.

2. No ethernet connection

Internal Keyboard is connected to: \_SB.PCI0_SBRG_PS2K -> VoodooPS2Controller.kext
Trackpad is a Synaptics device, connected to: \_SB.I2CD.TPD0 -> VoodooRMI.kext; VoodooI2C.kext; VoodooI2CHID.kext

Ethernet is a Realteak (10EC:8168) RTL8111/8168/8411 connected to: \_SB.PCI0.GPP5.XPDV -> RealtekRTL8111.kext

I'm sure there is something messed up with my Vodoo kexts, tried to get this done resulted being Stuck on ApplePS2Controller.

USB is mapped via USB USBToolBox.kext + UTBMap.kext and I also tried and mapped to USBMap.kext.

I would be happy to dive more into ryzentosh & maybe somone can have a look at my EFI. Thanks :)

The Radeon 680M IGPU is not supported in macOS. There are no drivers for this IGPU. Neither NootedRed.kext nor NootRX.kext will work with this IGPU. Your laptop will never work with full graphics acceleration, ever! I would remove both of these kexts from your /EFI/OC/Kexts folder and config.plist.

If you have a Synaptics Trackpad, try adding VoodooI2CSynaptics.kext to your setup. This kext can be found in the VoodooI2C folder, alongside VoodooI2c.kext.
Not sure you need RMII2c.kext when using VoodooI2c.kext.

You may need to enable the VoodooPS2Controller.kext/Contents/PlugIns/VoodooPS2Trackpad.kext or VoodooPS2Controller.kext/Contents/PlugIns/VoodooPS2Mouse.kext for your Trackpad to work. Probably not both but usually one of the two is required.
Also check that you haven't turned the trackpad off, using the corner 'button' on the trackpad that is normally available in Windows.

You have USBMap.kext and UTBMap.kext in your /OC/Kexts folder, this is wrong. Use one or the other not both, even if one is not enabled in the config.plist.

GenericUSBXHCI.kext may cause more issues than it solves, try booting from a USB without this kext in your OC setup, see if that helps with your USB ports. Definitely shouldn't need it if you have correctly mapped your USB ports.

You should add ResetNvramEntry.efi to your /EFI/OC/Drivers folder and config.plist, as this is required for resetting NVRAM after any changes to the OC setup. CleanNvram.efi on its own doesn't reboot the system, which is necessary for the NVRAM reset to happen.

Hey thanks for your help!

At one point i saw, that NootedRed discovered the 6650m maybe a good sign?
  • I removed USBMap.kext, and using only USBToolBox.kext + UTBMap.kext also removed GenericUSBXHCI.kext.
  • I removed every Voodoo Kexts and set them new in a order, i think is correct.

Now I get these errors, and can't even reach the installer anymore:

USBToolBox: XHC2: waitForMatchingService failed or timed out
USBToolBox: XHC3: waitForMatchingService failed or timed out
USBToolBox: XHC4: waitForMatchingService failed or timed out
USBToolBox: XHC1: waitForMatchingService failed or timed out
USBToolBox: XHC0: waitForMatchingService failed or timed out

ApplePS2ALPSGlidePoint: Identify: not an ALPS device. Error getting E6 report
ApplePS2ALPSGlidePoint: Identify: not an ALPS device. Invalid E6 report
ApplePS2ALPSGlidePoint: Identify: not an ALPS device. Error getting E7/EC report

stuck.

Also I saw the following during Init (This wont happen with the EFI I posted):

Prelinked Injection of some Kexts (SMCBatteryManager, SMCLightSensor, SMCProcessorAMD, VoodooI2C, VoodooIC2HID, VoodooIC2Synaptics) - Invalid Parameter.
I attached some photos of my screen and the updated EFI Folder.

From the results above it looks like your laptop needs the GenericXHCI.kext, so enable it or add it back to your OC setup.

Try swapping the Synaptics Voodoo kext for the ALPS kext, see if that helps.

Also can you check your bios to see that you have the correct options set for running macOS.

AMD BIOS Settings:
  • Note: Some of these options may not be present in your Bios, match up as closely as possible but don't be too concerned if some of these options are not available in your BIOS
Disable
  • Fast Boot
  • Secure Boot
  • Serial/COM Port
  • Parallel Port
  • Compatibility Support Module (CSM) (Must be off in most cases, GPU errors/stalls like gIO are common when this option is enabled)
  • IOMMU
Enable
  • Above 4G Decoding (This must be on, if you can't find the option then add npci=0x3000 to boot-args. Do not have both this option and npci enabled at the same time.)
  • EHCI/XHCI Hand-off
  • OS type: Windows 8.1/10 UEFI Mode (some motherboards may require "Other OS" instead)
  • SATA Mode: AHCI

Thanks again for your reply!

1. I checked my bios settings, and everything I could change, matches what you listed. So I assume there is nothing else to do.
2. I checked loading order of my Voodoo kexts, and they are good to go now two (Trackpad is working now)
3. I included GUX-RyzenXHCIFix (GenericXHCI.kext) again, and the USB errors are gone.
3.1 Need to correct myself, the errors are still there, but they're not causing a freeze on boot.

So far, I can reach the installer again. But its still not working great on USB.
USB Keyboard is not working at all, Mouse is working but unbelievably slow and laggy (Not really usable at all)

During boot I see several USB errors / driver crashes: Screenshot attached.

I will invest more time into figuring out which voodoo kext might support my trackpad. Since the internal keyboard: Done!
Trackpad is working without any lags too, so I can navigate through the installer very well.

installation will run until "14 minutes left" then it jumps to "18 minutes left" and then even the laggy mouse or internal keyboard stop responding.
Everything USB related is not working after the installer reaches: InstallAssistant[445]: FinishedOperation queue.

I think I can finish the installer when placing the dmg / efi on my SSD. Leaves the USB Issue unsolved.

EDIT: Nope, even from SSD it will go a little bit further but at the section where it has to reboot the first time, its freezing. Don't know what to check next...

So I experimented a bit and I came a bit further within the installation process.

I attached the installer log - maybe someone can help me to proceed or has any idea what to try next.

Hi, you can have a look at my EFI i posted above and check through the changes I mentioned in my previous comments. But for now I‘m sure you are out of luck and also stuck at the point I screenshotted. I still have no clue to come past this freeze (Although I am very sure it’s a NVRAM issue)

An emulated NVRAM could fix this issue but with OpenVariableRuntimeDxe.efi OpenCore will not reach the picker on this machine. So I’m still excited for any input!
