Enable AirDrop with Ethernet and enable AirDrop support on unsupported Macs running OS X 10.7+

Use the following defaults write command in the Terminal:

defaults write com.apple.NetworkBrowser BrowseAllInterfaces 1​

You need to then kill Finder with ‘killall Finder’ or reboot the Mac for changes to take effect.

Might be helpful for those systems that lack a compatible WiFi/BT card.
