Back to recovery menu after selecting install disk

Asus ROG Zenith Extreme
1950x Threadripper
Samsung 970 NVME
AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT 50th Anniversary Edition

I can get to the recovery menu/macOS Utilities, I can see the disk and I can select the disk to install to; problem is that it goes right back to the recovery menu/macOS Utilities after selecting the disk and hitting Install.

I tried with 2 NVME disks and a PCIe ssd from Intel - all perform the same and I don't know what else to try.

Any help is much appreciated

hi ciokan, do you have added some kext for apfs and nvme support??

did you follow a guide to create the hackintosh with these components ??

I followed at some point but never did manage to work it out. I'm now the closest using this repo: https://github.com/mdtita/asustufx570plus-hackintosh
Everything in there is also on my usb. This is the only repo that got me to actually see the recovery menu,
