AudioGod's ASUS ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING - Big Sur & Monterey Beta - OpenCore 0.7.4 EFI

Now I better understand. Thanks. I saw some posts on Reddit about potentially changing the drivers on the Samsung NVMe and got the wrong impression. Since the process is native to the drive and not the OS it makes sense that it is firmware. I was under the impression that when the drives TRIM...

AudioGod's ASUS ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING - Big Sur & Monterey Beta - OpenCore 0.7.4 EFI

Thanks for the more detailed answer about the ability to disable TRIM in the next release. The TRIM on the Samsung NVMe is a specific proprietary driver. I doubt also, it will be fixed or that anything in OpenCore can be done to rectify it. I don't know if this is within the palate of your...

AudioGod's ASUS ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING - Big Sur & Monterey Beta - OpenCore 0.7.4 EFI

At this time yes. On Monday OpenCore 0.7.9 will be release. The change log indicate that a new version of NVMeFix will also be available. NVMeFix cause Monterey 12.3 to crash. Whether this resolves the issue with Samsung TRIM on Monterey 12.3 is yet to be seen. Someone who has used the...

AudioGod's ASUS ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING - Big Sur & Monterey Beta - OpenCore 0.7.4 EFI

For those with an Asus X570 a new Beta BIOS was released today 4203. It works with MacOS using the current BIOS configuration. But you will need to reconfigure your BIOS after updating. EDIT: The only problem appears to be the PWM pump header. I am down grading due to it always wanting to...

AudioGod's ASUS ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING - Big Sur & Monterey Beta - OpenCore 0.7.4 EFI

WARNING! Do not install Monterey 12.3. After the update installs and the computer restarts the OS hangs on the loading screen. I stupidly clicked the update button on my primary MacOS partition instead of switching over to the test install on different drive.

AudioGod's ASUS ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING - Big Sur & Monterey Beta - OpenCore 0.7.4 EFI

What OS are you upgrading from? The only issue is with 1GB Ethernet which has been broken in the public releases of MacOS Big Sur and Monterey. Other than that everything else works properly.

AudioGod's ASUS ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING - Big Sur & Monterey Beta - OpenCore 0.7.4 EFI

Reset your BIOS and try these settings. When updating the BIOS it can reset to default. If that does not work use the clean EFI for 0.7.7 from and try booting.

AudioGod's ASUS ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING - Big Sur & Monterey Beta - OpenCore 0.7.4 EFI

You are wonderful. I was planning to do the update this evening and post it. Used your EFI and added in the Radeon sensors for CPU and GPU to show in iStat Menus. I tried adding NVMEFix, for any who need it, but kept getting stuck on the loading bar after logging in. This may be a 12.2...

AudioGod's ASUS ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING - Big Sur & Monterey Beta - OpenCore 0.7.4 EFI

Edit: Removed due to stability and periodic disconnects Just wanted to pass along that AppleGB.kext works for Ethernet on the Asus X570 I Gaming. Just add it to the Kext Folder and link it in Config.plist -> Kernel -> Add. It is not perfect as I am only getting about 650mbps while in Windows...

AudioGod's ASUS ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING - Big Sur & Monterey Beta - OpenCore 0.7.4 EFI

The fans in iStat Menus have the default Apple labels unfortunately. It would be nice if the label names could be changed for all the sensors. Displaying the temperature sensor would be a dream come true in iStat Menus. Later this week I am going to look at the code for the Kext and see...
