Any ideas as to what this stall means?
I had an ASRock Creator up and perfect with Catalina. I was working on getting High Sierra installed so I could use Nvidia for machine...
As I said in my thread, this is great news and needs to be pinned at the top of the High Sierra forum if I and others can confirm.
Did you get High Sierra up with Nvidia? I've never been able to complete an install or update without having an ATI card available to get it up and running to...
WOW! That's great news! I can't confirm, but going to switch back from the Gigabyte to the ASRock and give it a shot.
It this is the case, this issue needs to be pinned at the top of the High Sierra install forum. It would have saved me 100's of hours.
Thanks for the update @ediblehandshake2...
Hey sorry. Yes, I meant the aml files. It was pretty late when I wrote that post.
I did get TB3 working on the back panel. However, it might have just been the TB1 port and not TB2. There's another thread about this somewhere. I attached my EFI folder with cleaned serials. Hope this helps...
Are you trying to edit folders and files on your drives EFI folder? Definitely don't do that. Use a folder on a hard drive on a different computer to build your EFI folders. And then dump them on a USB stick to check to see if they work.
Also, I actually went back to iGPU's repo and just...
Very interesting. I'l need to retest. I think I might have had two issues. First I plugged it into the 2nd TB3 port and I think we are both pretty sure that it doesn't work. And then when I tested on the other TB_1 port, I was already convinced it wasn't running since it didn't run on the TB_2...
Glad you got TB3 Working. I also think only the TB_1 TB3 port works form me as well. To be fair, I also think this is the case with Linux, but definitely windows sees both of them.
I do plan to sometime next week go through the SSDT's enabling each to see what works and what does. It's not...
So are you saying that you are running macOS in a virtual machine on that machine? What was the install like? Seems like a good but expensive option and I'd want to be sure that it's Hackable before committing to something so expensive. But it TB3 worked 100% I'd switch in a second.
No, sorry, the Mantiz Venus eGPU is not working. Not even the USB parts of it. i.e. the USB ports, the SATA drive, the ethernet controller. All these things work completely and hot swap on my MacBook Pro, but not on the Hack even with a cold start.
I've yet to test my LG 5K monitor because it's...
So just an update. I pulled an old High Sierra drive out of a mac mini I had sitting around and boot to it using my USB EFI. It booted fine, but also no keyboard or mouse. Guessing I'm probably going to sell this motherboard and by one that for sure works with HS. Anybody have any suggestions...
What I've actually figured out is that it was all of iGPU's Thunderbolt amls that were causing the Thunderbolt to not work. I simply disabled them, boom, working Thunderbolt.
Specifically it was
SSDT-X570-Cr-TB3-basic.aml - already disabled
SSDT-X570-Cr-TB3-BuiltIn.aml...
Thanks! That worked! Now I finally have both USB and Thunderbolt working at the same time.
Now if I could just get the USB to work on the High Sierra install.
I'm a VFX supervisor and artist and AI developer who has used all the OS's out there. Currently, I work mostly on a 2019 MacBook Pro with an eGPU/Radeon VII.
But, I also have workstation where I need real compute power. I'm trying to get a 3950X with Nvidia 1080ti cards running High Sierra to...
I also can't get iGPU's repo to give me thunderbolt on my X570 Creator. Weirdly I tired aluveitie's RyzenMacPro EFI and TB3 worked no problem! It also fixed shutdown so it would shutdown entirely.
What it messed up though was USB. Pretty much only the front panel ports worked. I'm not sure how...
ASRock X570 Creator
I'm at a weird impasse. I used a mildly modified version of iGPU's AMD_OC_RYZEN's EFI to get Catalina installed, but contrary to many people on the old SNAZZYLABS-RYZENSHINE thread, I couldn't get Thunderbolt working despite the EFI being for my specific motherboard.
Then...
ASRock X570 Creator
Using the same EFI I installed Catalina with, when I get to the first install screen for High Sierra, I can't use the mouse or keyboard. I've tried cold boot with it plugged into each port with no luck.
Using an EFI pretty much based exactly on iGPU's build, but attached...
For issue 1. opencore switched to opencanopy, so you have to make sure you have that driver, or make sure that "PickerMode" in Misc is set to no.
I am also having issues with my Asrock x570 Creator and USB specifically with High Sierra install. When I get to the install screen I can't move my...
