I never said Apple cares about haackintosh. but without more modern hardware support we are relegated to tinkering with old hardware just for the fun of it.. which is cute too.. but disappointing. when I 1st started building new hackintoshes, I never cared about the GPU b/c my hackintosh was...

    Ryzen 7000 Testing

you don't think they could have received newer and newer Xeon processors for a few more years? or in a followup iteration, a Threadripper? in the meantime, what bugs me, is that they seem to be killing off hackintosh by refusing to allow discrete GPUs from AMD/NVidia. I have PowerColor...

Need help with RX 6900 XT (Screen refresh rate and OpenCL Score) and unknown CPU

You need to add the DeviceProperties for the 6900XT to your Config.plist in order to get Metal / Hardware acceleration supported. this will make safari feel more snappy and chrome finally usable. I followed this guide. note that you probably don't need the SSDT, only the DeviceProperties add...

    Ryzen 7000 Testing

I find these undervolting settings to be most optimal as well. That said, stock settings are rock solid too. full disclosure: I am running Monterey, not Ventura. when @CaseySJ and @Shaneee and @ExtremeXT get Continuity Camera working on Ryzen, I will upgrade my AM5 system. but until then, I...

I need some advice guys... I need to buy a GPU for my 3rd and final hackintosh build for the time being and I am between a PowerColor 6950XT and the PowerColor 6900XT Ultimate. the 6950XT reference model is "faster" but he Ultimate is a binned chip. also the 6950XT may have slightly faster...

    Ryzen 7000 Testing

have you guys noticed a hit in graphics performance between Monterey and Ventura on ATi 5000 and 6000 series graphics cards? I have been too lazy to switch my 6900XTX from my Ventura build (5950X) to my Monterey build (7950X) to properly test. but i'm wondering what your experiences are.

    Ryzen 7000 Testing

so I canibalized my X570 Creator Time Machine NVME to test Thunderbolt on the X670E Hero and the results were excellent -- 2700 MB/s sequential read/write speeds.. not too shabby. my next order of business is swapping out the 6900XTX in my X570 and putting it in my X670E hero build. the 665X0...

What are you using to test Thunderbolt? are you using the Hero motherboard or the Creator? (or both, like me?)

    Ryzen 7000 Testing

What kind of devices are you guys using for Thunderbolt testing? I have an ACASIS NVME enclosure but it was until recently being used as a TimeMachine backup drive for my X570 Creator build. I've already shown that it is recognized by my X670E Hero build but I haven't actually read or written...

I have a Family subscription to Spotify that I have used forever and I see no reason to switch. (to Apple Music) i'm not an audiophile and still only use my Classe SSP-800 to play everything at home. it sounds great in lossy mode. my car has very good custom sound system, and Spotify sounds...

    Upgrade to RX 6650 XT

Thank you sir.. it turns out my Gigabyte 6650 OC work out of the box with a simple Device ID spoof.. but I will save your SSDT-BRGO in case I need it at some point. It turns out that not disabling the iGPU of my 7950X caused issues with GFXBench Metal. but once I disabled the iGPU it came to life.

    Ryzen 7000 Testing

You guys called it. it was the iGPU all along. I disabled the iGPU in the BIOS earlier today and thenI put the system to sleep roughly 4 hours ago and it woke right up with a single key stroke just now. thank you thank you thank you! this also happened just now.. I am just not ready for...

    Ryzen 7000 Testing

You guys are geniuses.. disabling the iGPU in the BIOS did the trick. GFXBench Metal works fine now.. YAY I am using your EFI but I do not see any SSDTs related to USB port mapping. I' also not seeing any USBToolbox kexts. I will say so far all of the USB ports I have used seem to work...

    Ryzen 7000 Testing

I''m not sure.. I will try now. I hate where the "disable iGPU is in the BIOS so I just leave it on. I do not. I rarely, if ever use windows on this PC. It was purpose built to be a hackintosh. I just have Windows for testing purposes and to play around with RGB. now that my case is closed...

    Ryzen 7000 Testing

Does this look ok? unfortunately it didn't help in terms of getting GFXBench Metal working. but HEAVEN, GeekBench Compute and SotTR all work fine. on a related note, do I need @0,name | String | ATY,Henbury for the 6900XTX? or is it something for the 6600XT/6650XT only? I am thinking of...
