    144Hz refresh rate with 4K?

This is on Apple to fix, as apparently they broke DSC support in Big Sur. Nothing works, even though everything is set as it should. Fingers crossed in 11.4 (most likely).

    144Hz refresh rate with 4K?

I tried two scripts. The original linked from page you sent is a bit too restrictive - it removed all EDID extension blocks and only 60Hz was left. I then tried this version which had no visible benefits but at least nothing was removed. Thus my understanding is that macOS is already using...

    144Hz refresh rate with 4K?

Reading about all this, I found an amazing Reddit post about YCbCr, chroma subsampling and all that. It's 2 yrs old and 1.4 DSC is a more common thing now but still it's super informative.

    144Hz refresh rate with 4K?

I used SwitchResX to extract EDID info for the monitor. Here's an interesting part: Display type: ------------- RGB 4:4:4 & YCrCb 4:4:4 & YCrCb 4:2:2 Color Encoding Formats Display is continuous frequency Default color space is not sRGB standard Entire output is attached. It's late...

    144Hz refresh rate with 4K?

I have proper super-thick DP cable, to replace the original one that came with the monitor (which was too short). I specifically bought it to support for 4K 144Hz thus I don't think that's where the issue is. EDID hacks like the one you linked might be the answer, will try to look into this...

    144Hz refresh rate with 4K?

I have latest Big Sur running on X570, with Sapphire RX 5500 XT card, with LG 27GN950 monitor. This hw works great in Win 10 with 144Hz 4K res, using DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC. But in macOS, I can't get anything more than 95Hz to show up. Is there a list of possible solutions to try out to get...

    11.3 Beta 1 installation stucks

There's already an active discussion on the AMD OSX discord. Apple changed the CPU section which the patches are targeting and 11.3 is no-go for now. Stay on 11.2.

Who has AMD, USB custom tutorial

I was in your shoes last February. I wrote a whole guide about it, it might be useful to you. 1. https://aplus.rs/2020/usb-mapping-why/ 2. https://aplus.rs/2020/usb-mapping-how/

    5800X and 6900XT on X570-e motherboard

Radeon 6000 series still does not have proper driver support. You'll probably be able to install macOS Big Sur but without any actual hw acceleration. Hopefully in 11.2, although more likely in 11.3

Daaamn! Awesome stuff. Any particular reason you moved to Asus X570, apart from onboard temp sensor?

    ASRock X570 ITX/TB3 + Ryzen 9 5900X + RX 5500 XT → iMacPro1,1

Sleep never worked for me, so 🤷🏻‍♂️. Not concerning that much, this computer is almost always doing something. TB3 remains elusive. I have TB3 working rather well for external disks on ASRock Z490, where this same controller is present. TbtForcePower.efi was key ingredient in making it work and...

    ASRock X570 ITX/TB3 + Ryzen 9 5900X + RX 5500 XT → iMacPro1,1

I updated the build and added SMBus support, tweaked few less important properties. I was hoping to enable TB3 as well, but it both available versions od TbtForcePower.efi don't work with this build.

I don't think it applies to your case but this thread is interesting for older WiFi cards where you need to declare vendor and model/device-id.

Which version of brcmfixup? Since 2.0.8 they split that kext into multiple ones, so you may need additional .kext referenced: (from 2.0.8) So keep kext you have and try adding another kext entry below it, either AirportBrcmFixup.kext/Contents/Plugins/AirPortBrcm4360_Injector.kext or...

    Ryzen 9 3900X, ASRock X570 ITX/TB3, Sapphire RX 5500 Pulse, Catalina

In the meantime, it appeared for me as well. They removed 2.71 from download and now the list is the same as your screenshot. I installed it, I don't see PBO2 yet as an option (or I can't find it). Will try to play with existing stuff, when I get around it.

    ASRock X570 ITX/TB3 + Ryzen 9 5900X + RX 5500 XT → iMacPro1,1

So last evening, I replaced the XPG fans on the Levante 240 AIO with Noctua NF-A12x25, plus also switched air direction. From exhausting air through the radiator and out of the case I went to intake cold air through the radiator and then push that down through the case and exhausting at the...
