Need help to install macOS Sequoia on Asus RoG Zephyrus G14

Your version of OpenCore is too old to run Sequoia, you need to use release 1.0.1 or newer for Sequoia to run. https://github.com/acidanthera/opencorepkg/releases You also have an old version of the AMD Kernel Patches, there are only 22 x patches in your config.plist. The latest version of...

Need help to install macOS Sequoia on Asus RoG Zephyrus G14

Post a copy of the Whole EFI you are currently using with Sonoma. It would be better for us to see what you are using and then see what needs changing to work with Sequoia.

Need help for Sonoma or Sequoia

The PCI Configuration begin kernel panic, first screenshot is due to the RebuildAppleMemoryMap quirk being disabled in EFI-rev1. The other two are probably caused by enabling DevirtualisationMmio quirk in EFI-rev2, while something else is not quite correct. Can you try the EFI attached, it...

Need help for Sonoma or Sequoia

Can you post a copy of your System DSDT.aml table. I want to check the ACPI/IOReg paths used for the SSDT's in your ACPI folder and compare them to the SSDT-Base-AM5.aml table I removed.

Issue: Installation of macOS Ventura Stuck at "No NVRAM variable"

Finding someone else who is using the same Drive isn't necessarily a sign that it works without issues in macOS. Post a copy of your Whole EFI folder so we can see what you are using. At the moment we are working blind.

    Stuck on Opencore bootmenu

Your motherboard and CPU are fine, it is just the discrete GPU that is not compatible with macOS. Here is a link to GPU Buyers Guide for AMD dGPU's. https://dortania.github.io/GPU-Buyers-Guide/modern-gpus/amd-gpu.html RX 5000 or 6000 series GPU would be best.

Need help for Sonoma or Sequoia

Thanks, can't think why I failed to enable the DevirtualiseMmio quirk! Turns out I forgot to enable RebuildAppleMemoryMap quirk too! Quirks enabled in revised EFI below.

Need help for Sonoma or Sequoia

@fabiosun that's good to know. I think there might be a small difference between your ASUS Pro Art board and the Gigabyte X870 A/E board used by hinkin, specifically with one of the USB controller ACPI names/paths. I don't have a copy of the X870 system DSDT.aml table to check this but based...

Need help for Sonoma or Sequoia

I have gone through your config.plist and created a new one based on the revised EFI folder contents and what I think will be a better fit for your AM5 system. Copy of the revised EFI is attached below. Do not change anything in the EFI. Try it as it stands, if a kernel panic happens, take a...

Need help for Sonoma or Sequoia

First thing of note when reviewing you EFI folder contents is that you have a few elements with different dates, i.e. drivers, tools, OpenCore.efi & BOOTx64.efi are not from the same OpenCore release. This is a big No-No when using OpenCore. This is a view of your current EFI folder contents...

Need help for Sonoma or Sequoia

Post a copy of the whole EFI folder that you are currently using, as the OpenCore log shows a few errors, which I would like to examine. You seem to have a number of drives present in your system. It would be best if you were to remove all internal drives except the drive on which you plan to...

Any way to enable AVX2 in Sequoia?

Not sure if this link is of interest to you. It is a few years old but may be relevant if you are using VMware. https://www.geekrar.com/how-to-fix-this-virtual-machine-requires-avx2-but-avx-is-not-present/

Any way to enable AVX2 in Sequoia?

To my knowledge, Apple's Rosetta 2 translation layer does not support AVX2 instructions on Intel Macs. So I would assume it will be the same for your AMD hack. What does Terminal show when you run this command: sysctl -a | grep cpu.feat My Ryzen 9 5900X shows the following list of CPU...

Need help for Sonoma or Sequoia

You need to do the following, as your installer seems to be borked: Erase your current USB installer, keeping your EFI folder safe. Delete the macOS Sequoia installation app you downloaded, as this is most likely defective. Download a new copy of the Sequoia installation app, I use Corpnewt's...

Welcome to the forum and well done for Hacking an old AMD laptop. Regarding your AMD laptop: You are correct, you won't get full graphics acceleration as NootedRed.kext doesn't support the APU in your system. AppleALC.kext v1.9.2 or newer with a suitable layout-id might get your audio working...

Good work! You need to add NootedRed to see if you can get full graphics acceleration working. https://chefkissinc.github.io/applehax/nootedred/ The Realtek WiFi card won’t work in macOS. Either an Intel or Broadcom card needs to be used to get WiFi and Bluetooth working...

Mac OS install on AMD Ryzen (VMWare) Opencore - Improved Performance - Works with Sequoia / Sonoma / etc

That is more likely to be a graphics limitation, as your VM won’t have full graphics acceleration.
