Finding someone else who is using the same Drive isn't necessarily a sign that it works without issues in macOS. Post a copy of your Whole EFI folder so we can see what you are using. At the moment we are working blind.

That is more likely to be a graphics limitation, as your VM won’t have full graphics acceleration.
