No Thunderbolt 4/USB4 on ASUS ProArt X670E-CREATOR WIFI

(nvram -c before rebooting did not keep me from running into trouble, unfortunately; clearing the CMOS allowed me to get to the BIOS once, but like other attempts today, every subsequent reboot hung in POST. I'm currently going through BIOS flashback again... :) )

No Thunderbolt 4/USB4 on ASUS ProArt X670E-CREATOR WIFI

Despite it all, TB4 hotplug doesn't appear to work, though XHCI hotplug does! I was able to confirm my suspicion that adding the SSDT broke my USB mapping by recreating my USB mapping in Windows without the SSDT enabled in macOS, verifying the "correct" device names in IORegistryExplorer and...

No Thunderbolt 4/USB4 on ASUS ProArt X670E-CREATOR WIFI

I decided to start over and create an entirely new EFI folder, and ... well ... I have pretty much everything working in Sonoma 14.6.1, including Thunderbolt 4 and USB 4, with a combination of modified firmware for the JHL8540, an SSDT, and Elias64Fr's kernel patches. I noticed that my USB...

No Thunderbolt 4/USB4 on ASUS ProArt X670E-CREATOR WIFI

Thanks, Casey! Right now, even if I have devices plugged in on boot, nothing shows up under 'Thunderbolt/USB4 Bus' within System Information. USB 3.1 functionality works, and I see devices under the hubs on my TB4 docking station populate and function, even with hotplugging, both within Windows...

No Thunderbolt 4/USB4 on ASUS ProArt X670E-CREATOR WIFI

Good evening! I've spent the better part of the last few days straight (...) trying to shore up the remaining incompatibilities with my Hackintosh, and so far as I know, the only thing I don't have functional right now is USB4/Thunderbolt via the onboard JHL8540 controller. I've poked around...

    ASUS ProArt X670E-CREATOR WIFI - BIOS v.2007

Hey, all! I took a break from Hackintosh stuff since around October of last year when the then-latest BIOS updates were causing Hackintosh builds to fail to boot, resulting in a need for users to downgrade to older revisions to regain the ability to boot. After getting caught up on all the...

    Ryzen 7000 Testing

As the others have mentioned, the process of turning the PC off, putting a FAT32-formatted flash drive with the renamed BIOS at the root of the drive in the Flashback BIOS port, and pushing the Flashback button work. Just be prepared to wait ~10-15 minutes until the little LED (that you can't...

    Ryzen 7000 Testing

I can confirm that the 1710 BIOS update on my ASUS ProArt X670E-Creator WiFi also fails out in the same way. Gonna flash back to 1602 and wait it out for now.

    ASUS X670E ProArt | Ryzen 9 7950X | Radeon RX 6950 XT | MacOS Ventura

The AQC113CS 10GbE works with some additional kernel patches by @CaseySJ and enabling the ForceAquantiaEthernet quirk. That said, when I was testing OpenCore 0.9.4 dev builds, ocvalidator complained that the two-patch version of the fix is invalid (I forget specifically why), but the nine-patch...

    10 Gbit Ethernet

I'll throw my confirmation here as well: the patches are tested and functioning in both Ventura 13.4.1 and Sonoma Beta 2! I used the latest build of OpenCore available at the time, as it updated the ForceAquantiaEthernet quirk within the last two days.

    Ryzen 7000 Testing

I can confirm that these work in both Ventura 13.4.1 and Sonoma Beta 2! For the patches to function in Sonoma, a build of OpenCore from the last two days must be used, since the ForceAquantiaEthernet quirk was updated recently. I tested the two patches @CaseySJ provided with this build.

    10 Gbit Ethernet

Just wanted to throw my experience in to make it easier for others to find: I have an ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero with a Ryzen 9 5950x and an AQC113CS NIC that I purchased from OWC. I spent the last two days beating my head into the proverbial brick wall, finding all of the Intel solutions...
