Towards the end of last month AMD released the 5 5500, 5 5600 and the 7 5700X. They also released the official BIOS update to allow 5000 series processors to run on 320 motherboards. I own a ASUS Prime A320I-K and a Gigabyte B550M DS3hH, over the weekend I benched both boards with the Ryzen 7 5700X, results below. B550 left, A320 right.

Do the two setups use different speed Memory.

Both GB reports state they have 16GB RAM, but the A320 seems to have a more specific description for the RAM, compared to the B550 GB results. Just wondering if that would account for the difference in the scores.

The Single-core score is +11.19% between the A320 and the B550 board, which is a significant difference.

The Multi-core score is only +3.27% between the B550 and the A320 board, so not too great a difference. This could be down to the different versions of Monterey used by the two setups.

Other than the chipsets and different versions of Monterey used by the two boards, what if anything else was different in the two setups? Graphics card? Any additional PCIe cards?

I tried to get the two builds as close as possible, memory frequencies on both boards were set to 3200 MHz. The only hardware difference between the two setups was the addition of a Fenvi WIFI/BT card. Both used the Sapphire Pulse RX 580 8GB and 16 GB RAM. I couldn't update from 12.2 to 12.4 on the B550 board, (tried disabling and enabling SIP but no joy), even so you're not going to see much in gains or losses between the two OS's. I updated both boards with the latest BIOS to AMD AGESA V2 1.2.0.7. The single score surprised me too!, but what surprised me more was a multicore comparison on another site to a Ryzen 7 5800X on a 520 chipset, both the 320 and 550 beat it.
