I think if apple will go with AMD then it will be the new zen3. No need then to build a downgrade compatibility, right?

I believe it can work. I've already recently uncovered some AMD-specific ig-platform-ids which could benefit some of us.
You can try these out if you wish.

For Ryzen 1000/2000/3000 Vega 3 based systems:
Clover use in FakeCPUID: 810F81
Opencore use:
CPU1Data: 810F8100 00000000 00000000 00000000
CPU1Mask: FFFFFFFF 00000000 00000000 00000000

For Ryzen 9 based systems:
Clover use in FakeCPUID: A20F10
Opencore use:
CPU1Data: 100FA200 00000000 00000000 00000000
CPU1Mask: FFFFFFFF 00000000 00000000 00000000

Also I found there's a whole new guide on the AMDGPU kernel for Linux. Would be great if someone could port those functions over. That would greatly expand the
current AMD kernel. > https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/gpu/amdgpu.html

So I'd just done another bit of browsing online tonight, when I came across this!

1 - Disk Controller
EFI AMD RAIDXpert2-Fxx - 9.2.0-00087
OROM AMD RAIDXpert2-Fxx - 8.1.0-00046
EFI AMI NVMe Driver present
2 - Video OnBoard
EFI AMD GOP Driver - 2.10.0.0.0_signed
FFS-OROM VBIOS Unknown - 017.010.000.018.000000
OROM VBIOS Renoir - 017.010.000.015.000000
OROM VBIOS Raven - 016.002.000.011.000000
OROM VBIOS Raven 2 - 016.002.000.011.000000
OROM VBIOS Picasso - 016.002.000.011.000000
3 - Network
EFI Realtek UNDI Driver - 2.046
OROM Realtek Boot Agent GE - 2.62
Renoir Microcode
║7│00860F00│0860000E│2020-01-27│0xC80│0x5EEF00│Yes
║8│00860F01│08600103│2020-01-27│0xC80│0x5EFC00│Yes

This is the data extracted from an Asrock Deskmini BIOS, which contains the vbios rom data for the Picasso/Renoir range of APUs.
The microcode I think is data about the GPU. I suspect someone could make good use of this for the AMD kernel.

I don't see how this would be possible without going back to using the modified kernel which Big Sur makes very hard to do.
