@savage001 iMacPro1,1 requires patching to disable ADGP patching to get DisplayPorts to work. MacPro7,1 does not require that.
So if you want to do without WhateverGreen or manual patching you'd have to switch to MacPro7,1

Ok thanks for that, I think I’ll switch to MacPro7,1 but in the mean time is there a guide for patching?
And with MacPro7,1 I won’t need whatevergreen or any boot args?

You can just use WhateverGreen with boot-arg as usual to do that.

Yep, Big Navi runs just fine on MacPro7,1 without WEG.

No matter what I try I cannot get display port to work after login screen.
With MacPro7,1 smbios I set boot arg to adgpmod=ignore = black screen.
Same smbios block weg with clover no boot arg = black screen.
Same smbios adgpmod=disable = black screen.

Is there any benefit to running display port over hdmi?
I have noticed my option for HDR goes away with hdmi.

You need to update the USB kext since the SMBIOS is noted in the info.plist.

Apple seems to favour DisplayPort over HDMI, depending on your Display you may be limited by HDMI in resolution/refresh rate.

But I can’t get DisplayPort working without having hdmi plugged in as well.
Do I need to reset my bios pcie back to gen 4 for it work?

Never mind -wegoff fixed it.
