I joined team red and swapped my Core i5 for a R9 3900X.
I followed the excellent Dortania guide and got inspiration from Portrayer's GitHub.
There is still plenty to do but I'm on a good path

The only issue left is the microphone port.

Screenshot 2020-05-31 at 12.51.35.png
HW Config:
  • MSI B450i Gaming AC
  • Ryzen 9 3900X
  • Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3200MHz C16
  • Gigabyte RX 5700 XT OC
  • BCM94352Z NGFF card. (no BIOS support though)
  • Evolv Shift Air
  • Arctic Liquid Freezer II 120

Software:
  • OpenCore 0.5.8
  • macOS 10.15.15
  • Windows 10

What works:
  • Boots up :p (ApfsDriverLoader.efi. I get a very slow boot with just OC 0.5.8)
  • Wifi (AirportBrcmFixup.kext)
  • Bluetooth (with the USB SSDT and BrcmBluetoothInjector.kext.)
    • The order of the Kext matters !!
    • Compiling yourself does not always lead to usable kexts.
    • For multi-boot, I used Hackintool to export the Bluetooth keys as Windows registries.
  • GPU with H264 and HEVC HW Decode/Encode. (Device properties+WhateverGreen+ agdpmod=pikera)
  • SSD TRIM (OC Patch)
  • Windows dual boot
  • DP Audio out
  • Analog Audio out (AppleALC.kext)
  • Sleep!!! I could not get it to sleep because I was injecting the radeon Pro W5700X device properties. Sleep works beautifully now that I removed it!
  • iCloud
  • iMessage: make sure to add a "built-in" device property to your ethernet port. Also remove al the "ids" items from the iCloud Keychain before trying to activate iMessage.
  • Boot Virtual Box VM from physical Windows drive

What does not work:
  • Microphone port (AppleALC.kext)
  • Boot chime
