Download speed for I211-AT NIC not showing

I have an Intel I211-AT gigabit NIC and a Realtek 2.5gbps NIC. I don't currently have the Realtek setup as the kext I found wouldn't work for it.

But the Intel one refuses to register a total download speed in Activity Monitor and iStat Menus. It shows per app speeds, but not total.

Example:

Any ideas?

Board is an MSI X570 ACE, 10.15.4, OC 0.5.8

I have the same issue and have been trying to figure it out as well. I'm assuming it has to do something with the SmallTreeIntel82576.kext not fully registering with Catalina or the card supported by the OS.

What's also weird is that it shows two blank icons in iStat Menu, one I know would be the Activity Monitor icon.

Let me know if you find anything.

Setup:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600x
MB: B450 Aorus Pro WiFi
RAM: 16GB 3200
GPU: Radeon RX 570 4GB
OS: Catalina 10.15.4
Bootloader: OpenCore 5.8.0

Oh that's weird, mine does show the correct icons. I just think it's so strange both iStat and Activity Monitor register download speed per app but not total.

I'm also wondering if VirtualSMC is missing some sensors. FakeSMC has a bunch more:

I think I found a work around.
I created a bridge with only the Ethernet interface.

Create the bridge:

My internet is ~300mbps so thats the top speed, I guess it should go to 1gbps, I don't have a network at the moment to test it, so this is good enough for me.

I tried looking for a better solution but the information available is limited and I didn't know where to begin in debugging it.

The only other thing I could think of was opening an issue with the person that made the patch: https://github.com/khronokernel/SmallTree-I211-AT-patch and see if he can help or point us in the right direction. This chip appears to be popular in new x570 motherboards, for sure more people will have this issue.

Update: Opening an issue with the dev of the patch wouldn't be of much help since they only patch the smalltree driver... it is unclear to me what is the issue and why the info isn't shown.

Creating the bridge did the trick for me. I have very limited speed internet, so my top speed is getting read properly after using bridge mode.

Thank you. @reggie
