Is it possible to do a simple update to Big Sur or do i need to do a clean install?

I updated from Catalina with no problems.

You used OC 6.3? and i guess just make sure all kexts are up to date...

I was on OC 6.1. After updating to Big Sur I then updated OC to 6.3.
