    I'm actually waiting for a M.2 drive (It's been stuck in USPS for 2 weeks now). When it arrives I can give Catalina a shot. My plan is to move my Big Sur install from a SSHD drive to the M.2.

    I also can't seem to get static when playing youtube via safari/firefox. No sound at all. The only time I get static is when using Music, or VLC Media Player to test an mp3.

    I tried switching to the headphone jack and rebooted on alcid=1. Surprisingly the sound option changed from internal speakers to headphones. Still static.

    Tried options 1,2,3. 1 and 3 I get static. 2 surprisingly changes the login screen (left/right scroll for my user account and guest) Option 1 has the most available outputs - static only on internal speakers.
