I have an old Z97 Gaming 5. It is time for me to update and my top choice is this one. Moving from intel to amd is big for me.

4 key things:

1. What model identifier (SMBIOS) did you use ? MacPro7,1 ?
2. Would it be possible for you to share the bios changes you had made ?
3. Does iMessage work ?
4. What is your experience, how stable is the machine running OS X ? do you get frequent crashes ?

2. Just the normal stuff outlined in the Guide. Can't remember off the top of my head, but it was really just 2 settings.
3. Yes, and AppStore.
4. The only thing I have had to do was to flip the OC switch off on my PowerColor RT5700XT. But that was something I need to do for stability for Windows and MacOSX. I use my hackintosh mainly for video editing (5K 360 degree videos), with no problems at all.

1. I used what was out at the time. I may redo later when there is a build that supports Big Sir.

That was a 1st run problem. My cooler sits flat. I've had no issues with my CPU temps with or without OC.
