Hi, my current EFI which works perfectly with MacOS Monterey doesn't seem to work with MacOS Ventura. I've spent several days to get it to work, without success.

Can someone upgrade my EFI to OpenCore 0.8.2 including the required changes for Ventura?

My hardware:
  • PC Case: Fractal Design Define R6 USB-C TG
  • Processor: Intel Core i7 9700K, 9th Gen (Code name: Coffee Lake)
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte Z390 Designare
  • Sound card (onboard): ALC 1220-VB audio controller
  • SSD storage: Crucial Crucial MX500, 1TB
  • Graphic card: AMD RX 6800 XT 16GB
  • Fenvi T919 for WiFi/Bluetooth, AirDrop, Apple Watch Unlock, etc.
  • Power Supply: Be quiet! Dark Power 12 1000W
  • Memory (RAM): Corsair Vengeance LPX (2x 16GB, total 32GB)
  • Display: iiyama G-Master GB3466WQSU-B1 UltraWideScreen, 34 inch.
Many thanks.

Joost

Hey Joos, I read this earlier from CaseySJ

Yes, I also read that indeed, thanks. On that website it isn't allowed however to already discuss Ventura, hence my question here :) I would already like to play around with Ventura, preferably.

PS: I do recognize your name :)

I would like to have a look too, I don't think anyone is allowed to discuss it yet until the public Beta becomes available. Though I'm pretty sure they're working on it!.

@joostiphone

Attached is the EFI for OC 0.8.2. All I did was upgrade your EFI folder. I'm not making any other claims...

It works great! Thanks a lot @CaseySJ . The only minor thing I needed to correct is the proper resolution at the opencore screen, uiscale on -1.

It’s now a triple boot with Windows 11, Monterey and Ventura :)

Hello,

What might be the problem?
Always stop the installation at this point.

EFI: 0.8.2

The first image will also appear during the installation of Monterey!

  • Is SecureBootModel disabled?
  • Have you updated the kexts to latest versions as well (not just OpenCore.efi and BOOTX64.efi)?
  • Are you using OpenIntelWireless drivers for Intel WiFi/BT? If so, try disabling them (AirportItlwm and IntelBluetoothFirmware).

After a couple of false starts and some late reading, everything is 'Ace', didn't need to use any extra boot arguments or change anything in the config. Happy, happy days!.

I don't know what the problem was, but I remanufactured EFI.
It works now! ;):)

Picatosh.
I'm slowly getting used to the new System Settings. The old System Preferences had animations / visual cues for various tasks such as mouse and trackpad gestures. The new one lacks some of that pizzaz.
