Edit:

IMG_1002.JPG

Seems like something is booting now, I changed the driver of "hfsplus.efi" to "hfspluslegacy.efi", and not something booted and asked me to hit enter for "(external) dmg", which I did so and now I get a blank screen and computer is restarts and goes through a loop process. I also updated the log file below.

I get the above screen, when I click on "boot (external) dmg", I get few texts of lines then the computer goes into a complete blank screen, then the computer restarts into a loop and goes back into the same menu.

Followed all the steps from the OpenCore guide for AMD build.

What going wrong here?

Desktop Build:

CPU: AMD FX 8350

Motherboard: ASRock 970 Extreme 3

GPU: Readon WX 2100

USB Boot Drive: 250GB SSD Kingston

MacOS: Big Sur

Here is a video of what happens during the boot process:

Here is the EFI folder for anyone that want to investigate:

Here is the ".txt" file which OpenCore logs data into the boot partition:

Edit, I solved the problem, here is the link how I solved it:

You need to add the latest version of the Bulldozer AMD Kernel Patches to your config.plist. There are now 46 patches in the download, your config only has 37 patches. So I am assuming you are using an older version, which are not set for Big Sur or the Monterey (Beta).

Here is a link for the latest version of the AMD kernel patches - https://github.com/AMD-OSX/AMD_Vanilla

You have two kexts in your /OC/Kexts folder that I don't use on my FX8350/FX990/HD7870 system, running Catalina:
  • CtlnaAHCIPort.kext
  • telemetrap.kext
I would remove these two kexts and the entries in the config.plist and see if that helps.

Thank You for replying, I will try your advice tonight.

I did however downloaded the latest bulldozer patch from the link you provided which was shown in the guide. Which the guide shows to delete, copy and paste the kernel patch in the config.plist

I guess I messed something up, will start all over again.

Thanks again and will let you know if I get the AMD FX 8350 running with Big Sur.

Alright I changed my driver file from hfsplus.efi to hfspluslegacy.efi and seems to boot. When the boot process asks me to enter ”(external) dmg”, when I hit enter for it, shows many verbose texts then the computer keeps restarting into a loop process.
